8. The Asylum
Throughout the MCU, there have been a handful of genuinely shocking, completely jarring moments. The reveal of Trevor Slattery and the Red Skull’s return on Vormir are among the greatest, and now Marc Spector’s arrival at the asylum is right up there with them.
After four episodes of battling Steven for control of the body, Khonshu for his freedom, and Harrow to keep Ammit from being resurrected, Marc was shot in the Great Pyramid of Giza. He awoke in a pristine white asylum, opposite Ethan Hawke’s ‘Doctor Harrow’.
Everyone else in the asylum had played some role in the previous four episodes, and there were pieces of the story dotted around the entire room. What on Earth was the audience supposed to think?! Had all of this genuinely been a dream, or some kind of hallucination? Was Steven Grant just a name he picked up from a bad adventure movie?
This was one of the greatest cliffhanger endings the MCU has ever put to Disney+, and it left audiences in need of more Moon Knight like never before.
